                       INAUGURATION OF PAILAN FILM AND TELEVISION INSTITUTE


   On 14th August Pailan Film And Television Institute had a grand opening. This section of our college specifically deals with film and television as a mass communicating medium. The institute provides shooting floors to directors and also has diploma courses in cinematography,direction,acting,modelling,modern dance,T.V anchoring,editing,script writing and many more. It opens up an arena of oppurtunities  for budding media aspirants who want to flourish in the world of electronic media

      The lamp lighting ceremony was done by eminent tollywood actors Mr.Soumitra Chattopadhay, Mrs.Madhabi Mukherjee, Rituparna Sengupta, singer Babul Supriyo and others. This was followed by the ribbon cutting and fireworks display. The program was designed with astounding performances from Rituparna's dance troupe, group dance by Pailan World School students, and many solo singing and band performances. A sumptous spread was served for dinner after that.

Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August morning by the media students of Pailan School Of international Studies.Dance performance by Swaraj,Anushua,Oindrilla and me, song by Anushua and Keka, script and announcement by Keka and Sourav Sil

What Media Science is all about?

Media Science is a compact  three years honors graduation course which gives the student a complete idea about the different branches of media like Print and Electronic Journalism, Press Photography,Film Studies,Direction, acting, Editing, Advertising, Public Relations ,Radio Jockeying etc. Every form of  mass communicating media is covered, in the course, newspaper,television,radio,film,theater,and the internet.Within five semesters the student is armed with adequate knowledge of every form of media and he last semester deals with training and specialization where the student is ready to finally choose his field. The study of media is very interesting and is not limited to bookish theories. It is more about practical knowledge, technical soundness,and passion towards the work .It requires a lot of running around , lot of patience,and lots of sincerity.

Media is considered to be the most powerful , dynamic, and glamorous industry. Every child though may dream of becoming a doctor or engineer deep inside his heart there is always a wish of becoming famous or being in the spotlight. Media studies gives us the scope to fulfill that wish ,in other words it makes the road to fame smoother. Studying media science gives us a peek at what actually goes on behind the curtain of glamor . It gives rise to kings as well as king-makers. Our Respected Chaiman Sir, Mr.Apurba Saha is truly a magician who bought huge acres of  unused rural 

lands and with his he converted the deserted rural area into a new township,consisting of eight colleges one international school and many residential units. Recently he has also opened a food processing unit. And there's no stopping.
